While the film Amri by Mira Nair has been kept under wraps, the industry buzz suggested the Priyanka Chopra will play a special cameo role in the much-acclaimed biographical film. It is believed though Priyanka Chopra’s role may be brief she has left a lasting impact.


Priyanka Chopra nor the maker’s team of Mira Nair’s production house have officially confirmed the new development that is intriguing the project. This would also mark the first ever collaboration between the globally celebrated actress Priyanka Chopra with the internationally renowned director Mira Nair, making the cameo more noteworthy. 


About Amri star cast and its chronicle 


The lead role of Amrita Sher-Gill is reportedly being portrayed by Tanya Maniktala who previously had worked with Mira Nair in her much-acclaimed series, A Suitable Boy. The casting for Amri has garnered much excitement across the fans and audience. 


The chronicle aims to portray the life of the artist/painter Amrita Sher-Gill whose work bridged the Western technique with Indian themes.   She was born to a Hungarian mother and a Sikh father. Her multi-cultural upbringing has had a deep influence in her art.  Despite her untimely death at the age of 28, young Sher-Gill’s legacy has continued through her evocative portrayals of women, the rural life and the social realities that cemented her as one of the most influential modern painters of the 20th century.
