Rajkummar Rao Gets Bail In Old Poster Controversy

In a digital poster of the film 'Behen Hogi Teri' released on April 4, 2017, Rajkumar was seen sitting comfortably on a silver colored motorcycle in the guise of Lord Shiva. Many symbolic elements like moon and Rudraksh garland are also visible in the poster. People objected to this scene and called it hurting religious sentiments.

Producers Face Legal Consequences

This caused huge outrage among the people in Jalandhar, where they filed a private criminal complaint alleging hurting religious sentiments. Director Ajay K. Pannalal and producer Tony D'Souza were arrested in Mumbai on May 26, 2017 and were later granted bail.

Initial Complaint by Religious Leader

The case was first registered in 2017 by Hindu leader and filmmaker Ishant Sharma at Thana Division No. 5 in Jalandhar. Ishant Sharma alleged in his complaint that Lord Shiva has been portrayed in an 'insulting' manner in the film, which hurts the religious sentiments of the Hindu community.

Box Office Performance

The movie Behen Hogi Teri was rejected both critically and commercially. It earned only ₹3.6 crore at the box office in its lifetime. Rajkummar Rao was last seen in a power-packed avatar in Maalik.
