Mumbai, June 25, 2025. Bollywood star Rajkummar Rao has finally been confirmed to play former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly in the long-expected biopic. Rao, celebrated for his chameleon-like roles, was anxious himself, acknowledging that this casting 'is a massive responsibility.' Sourav Ganguly himself is allegedly not opposed to the appointment. In a recent festival appearance in Bardhaman, he admitted to Rao’s participation but said potential scheduling conflicts would likely push the release past 2025.
