Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Ramayana’ Creates Rs 1000 Crore Buzz Before Release

Ranbir Kapoor’s much awaited film Ramayana has sparked a financial storm even before hitting theaters.
The mythological epic, which will feature Kapoor as Lord Ram, has already created a Rs 1000 crore impact thanks to the release of its powerful first look video.
Prime Focus sees 54 percent rise after teaser launch
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, the film’s two part budget reportedly stands at Rs 1600 crore Rs 835 crore for the first installment and Rs 700 crore for the second. Yet, despite its massive investment, the film has recovered a huge chunk of its value ahead of release.
The key reason behind this early success is the soaring stock value of Malhotra’s company, Prime Focus. Listed since 2006, Prime Focus witnessed a 54 percent spike in stock value post the trailer launch. Between June 25 and July 1, its share price jumped from Rs 113.47 to Rs 149.69. By July 3, it touched Rs 176, and the company’s market capitalization rose from Rs 4638 crore to Rs 5641 crore in just 48 hours.

In another surprise, Ranbir Kapoor himself has invested Rs 20 crore in Prime Focus, buying 1.25 million shares. While he is not involved creatively in the company, he is now a strategic investor. As the film heads for a grand Diwali 2026 release, expectations and valuations continue to soar.
