Its been almost 2 years since the sports film ‘83 was announced. The film boasts a huge ensemble star cast that includes Ranveer Singh, Ammy Virk, Deepika Padukone, Sahil Khattar, Chirag Patil, Harrdy Sandhu, Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Sunny Kaushal and Boman Irani among others. The film was scheduled to release in theaters in April 2020, but then the pandemic showed its face and everything was postponed indefinitely. Again the film was to release in June 2021, but due to the lockdown and covid situation, the film’s release got affected. The makers have finally announced the release date of the Kabir Khan directorial on 25th December 2021. 

 

Ranveer Singh who is essaying the role of former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev in the film shared a new poster on his social media page and  wrote, “It’s time……….. 🏏🏆 83 IN CINEMAS THIS CHRISTMAS. Releasing in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. #ThisIs83.” The film will document India’s first ever World Cup win in 1983. Apart from this film, Ranveer will also be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus.
