The 50th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2025 witnessed a grand celebration as the 4K restored version of the iconic Bollywood classic Sholay was screened.


Marking 50 years since its release in 1975, the screening brought together filmmakers, stars, and cinema enthusiasts from across the globe.

Director Ramesh Sippy attended the premiere along with actor Bobby Deol, who represented his father Dharmendra, one of the film’s legendary leads. The event also saw the presence of Shahzad Sippy, the Film Heritage Foundation (FHF), and director Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, all of whom walked the red carpet, adding to the gala occasion.
