Gayatri Joshi, former
co-star of Shah Rukh Khan in
the movie Swades,
along with her husband Vikas Oberoi, recently found themselves involved in a
harrowing car accident while in Italy. Thankfully, Gayatri has confirmed that
both she and her husband are safe and sound.
Reports
indicate that this accident occurred as part of a multiple-car collision in
Sardinia. It was a distressing moment when several high-performance vehicles,
including a Lamborghini and Ferrari, attempted to overtake a camper van
simultaneously. Tragically, this led to a fire in the Ferrari, resulting in the
loss of the lives of an elderly Swiss couple, Melissa Krautli, 63, and Markus
Krautli, 67.
Gayatri Joshi, who
achieved recognition by winning the Femina Miss India International title in
2000, made her debut in the acting world through Ashutosh
Gowariker Swades. Her portrayal of Geeta alongside Shah Rukh
Khan received critical acclaim. Despite her promising start in Bollywood,
Gayatri decided to step away from the industry. She tied the knot with
businessman Vikas Oberoi in 2005, and the couple now has two children.
While
Gayatri has distanced herself from Bollywood over the years, she occasionally
makes appearances in Mumbai. Just last year, she and Vikas were seen enjoying a
lunch outing in the city with Hrithik Roshan,
Sussanne Khan, Sonali Bendre, and
her husband Goldie Behl.
