Known to be one of the finest actor of Bollywood with a career spanning over 5 decades, superstar Dilip Kumar turns 97 years old today. Originally born as Yusuf Khan, the Andaz actor is one of 12 children born to his parents. The actor is known for her charismatic performances and unique style of acting that has been mimicked by many before. Some of his most notable performances have been in movies like Devdas (1955), Babul (1950), Madhumati (1958), Mughal-E-Azam (1960), Ram Aur Shyam (1967), Shakti (1982), and many more.

 

Dilip Kumar is married to yesteryears glamorous Bollywood actress Saira Banu and has been part of many charitable and social activities. He was given the Padma Vibhushan in 2015 for his contribution in Indian Cinema, before that he received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994, Padma Bhushan in 1991 and also appointed as the Sheriff of Bombay by the Government during the period 1979-1982. His last appearance on the big screen was for the Subhash Ghai directed movie Saudagar starring Raaj Kumar, Manisha Koirala and Vivek Mushran.
