With a career spanning over 5 decades, veteran actor Ashok Saraf  has given us memorable films in not just Marathi cinema but also in Bollywood. The brilliant actor who has also done several TV shows and theatre plays is all set to play a pivotal role in actor Riteish Deshmukh’s directorial debut Ved.

Speaking about the film Ashok, who is celebrating his 75th birthday today, said, “I felt very happy and proud when I heard that Riteish is directing his first film. So, there was no question of saying no to it. He is an excellent filmmaker. It's rare to find a filmmaker who puts so much thought into every scene and keeps his cool, no matter what.”

Apart from Saraf, Ved also stars Genelia Deshmukh, along with Riteish, Shubhankar Tawade and newcomer Jiya Shankar. Ashok who has acted in more than 250 films in his career further added, “It didn’t feel like we were shooting. Such was the ease with which the entire team worked. More than anything else, I feel genuinely happy that this film gave me a dear friend in the form of Riteish.”
