The trailer of the upcoming Netflix movie Amar Singh Chamkila is finally out. Directed by Imtiaz Ali this musical drama features Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra in the lead role. Amar Singh Chamkila is a biopic made on the life of Punjab's original Rockstar.

Today on 28th March Netflix India shared the much-awaited trailer of the upcoming movie Amar Singh Chamkila. The movie is based on the life of one of the highest record-selling artists from Punjab famously known as ‘Chamkila.’ The movie is directed by Imtiaz Ali and will be streamed on Netflix from April 12.

The Amar Singh Chamkila trailer features Diljit Dosanjh in the character of Amar Singh Chamkila. It starts from his early life and transcends the audience to his successful and controversial music career. The storyline also delves into his relationship with Amarjot Kaur. Parineeti Chopra plays the character of Amarjot.

Amar Singh Chamkila was assassinated at a very young age. On 8 March 1988, Amar Singh Chamkila along with his wife Amarjot and two band members was killed for singing lecherous songs. 

Imtiaz Ali Returns with Amar Singh Chamkila:

Amar Singh Chamkila is directed by Imtiaz Ali. The director will be collaborating with AR Rahman after 9 years for Amar Singh Chamkila. The lyrics for the movie are written by Irshad Kamil. The movie promises to capture the rawness of important moments from Amar Singh Chamkila's life. Both the lead actors Diljit and Parineeti have sung the original Chamkila songs in Punjabi. 

Amar Singh Chamkila will be out on Netflix on 12th April.
