Acclaimed director Umesh Shukla, known for Oh My God and 102 Not Out, has confirmed he is working on a full‑length biographical film on the legendary playback singer Mohammed Rafi. The project was announced by Rafi’s son, Shahid Rafi, during a tribute event at IFFI Goa in late 2024.
The film is expected to chronicle the life and career of Rafi, who sang for over a thousand films and appeared in multiple Indian and international languages. Shukla has already completed the script and is now in the casting stage, looking for an actor who can convincingly embody the iconic Rafi saab.
