Synopsis

Kanji, played by Paresh Rawal, owns a Hindu idol and antique shop in Mumbai. He doesn’t believe in God and considers himself an atheist. A neighbor curses Kanji, when he stops his sonfrom playing a festival. One day a small earthquake hits the city but only Kanji’s shop gets destroyed. He goes to the insurance company but they tell inform him that natural calamities/Acts done by God are not covered and thus Kanji feels dejected. He decides to sue God, but no lawyer is ready to fight his bizarre case. Later Kanji finds a poor Muslim family of lawyers who help him file the case against the insurance company as well as the religious leaders who are supposedly the representatives of God. The mortgage company meanwhile takes over Kanji’s house and Krishna, played by Akshay Kumar comes to his rescue, buying his house and letting him stay with him in it. Later during the last trial Kanji falls unconscious and is rushed to the hospital where he is put on a ventilator. He learns that the verdict was in his favour and people have started calling him God, with his statues erected all over. Later Kanji destroys all his idols and statues and tells people to not believe in them and god men who claim to know all about God but to search God within themselves. The movie is directed by Umesh Shukla and produced by Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Ashvini Yardi. The music is composed by Himesh Reshammiya, Sachin-Jigar and Meet Bros.
