The 2012 social comedy OMG: Oh My God was a huge success. People who have watched the film will know that the film did well as much for leading actor Paresh Rawal as for Akshay Kumar. Now the makers are all set to bring the film’s sequel to the audiences but surprisingly does not have Rawal in the film. There were many insider reports that the sequel would not be made without the original cast and the veteran actor was already in talks with the makers for it, however things didn’t go as planned.

Reportedly Paresh Rawal was of the opinion that he deserved a higher fee as the film’s success was credited to him. The makers however thought that increasing his fees would shake up the budget and thus politely declined. Rawal’s next proposal was to share in the film’s profits but due to having multiple producers for the film, this too was not possible and declined. The Sanju actor thus had no choice but to walk out of the film completely. Thus the makers signed on the talented Pankaj Tripathi as a befitting replacement for the actor. The makers are sure that the Mirzapur actor will bring in his own flavor to the character. OMG: Oh My God 2 also stars Yami Gautam as the leading lady and is directed by Amit Rai. The film went on floors this August. Kumar will join in the shoot after he wraps up Ranjit Tiwari’s Mission Cinderella.
