Varun Dhawan is gearing up for a major turning point in his career with the upcoming war drama Border 2. Ahead of the film’s theatrical release on 23 January, the actor interacted with fans during a candid #VarunSays session, where he spoke openly about his future plans, genre interests, and ongoing rumours.

When asked about a genre he would like to explore next, Varun revealed his strong desire to star in a sci fi mythological film, a space that remains largely unexplored in mainstream Hindi cinema. His response sparked excitement among fans, who welcomed the idea of seeing him in a larger than life spectacle blending mythology and science fiction.

Varun also addressed speculation around his involvement in Luka Chuppi 2. The actor firmly clarified that he has not signed any sequel or new project at the moment, stating that there is no sequel of any other film he is currently doing. While he denied signing anything new, Varun hinted that he remains extremely busy, leaving fans curious about what is next.

On the work front, Varun will be seen portraying Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya PVC in Border 2, alongside Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film releases on 23 January. He also has Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, a rom com directed by David Dhawan, slated for a 5 June 2026 release.
