Pooja Entertainment, an esteemed production unit helmed by producer Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani, were entangled in a rough legal dispute with the streaming giant Netflix last year. In 2024, the Bhagnanis had sued Netflix over alleged cheating and unpaid dues amounting to Rs. 47.37 crore. Even though at that time Netflix had issued a denial.
Bollywood Hungama, Pooja Entertainment and Netflix have arrived at an agreement and have resolved the financial dispute. This dispute had started in 2024, when Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani had filed a complaint against Netflix with the Economic Offences Wing, the EOW of the Mumbai Police, alleging that this giant platform had failed to pay them their dues for streaming three of their films Mission Raniganj, Bade Miyan Chote Miya and Hero No.1.

Senior Inspector Ravindra Avhad, who was investigating this case, had said Rs.47.37 crore is what the Netflix owes to the Bhagnanis, but the streaming giant is not cooperating, but had later asked for some time after they received two summons. Netflix is said to have recorded the claims to be completely baseless and unfounded and had issued a report stating that the Bhagnanis owed Netflix the amount. However, after nearly a year, with negotiations and legal proceedings and with the strong track record of the partnership, the EOW seems to have set the matter in favor of Bhagnani and the legal dispute has been resolved between Bhagnani and Netflix after the publicized legal showdown between the two parties.

The brighter side of this dispute has ended with both parties deciding to put this legal battle behind them and are looking forward to a renewed collaboration and hoping to continue their long and successful association.
