When a new actor arrives with self confidence, it is for Main Vaapas Aaunga, wherein Vedang Raina seems to be doing exactly that . Stepping into the genre of defined men who loved deeply and carried the memories.

Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film shifts between timelines. It is between the Partition era and the emotional centre with Vedang’s portrayal as the young Punjabi boy in Love. For over a decade, Imtiaz Ali’s films have been on male protagonist who have been sincere, but romantic and yet wounded with a desire or yearning for love.

Vedang’s entry into the space that fits perfect.

Vedang Raina is not playing the angry loud lover that is common in contemporary romance. He instead fills the space by bringing in his vulnerability and hope.  One of the most compelling narratives, the film is casting Vedang Raina as the younger version of Naseeruddin Shah on whom the the film is centralised.  The role demands that the actor creates his own personality that is evolved into a lifetime of longing. The scenes captures the fragile intensity of youth and the belief that love can survive borders and time.

Vedang Raina’s role in the upcoming film

The film will see a transformation of Vedang Raina in this drama which is based on a story of Pre-partition Punjabi boy who is simple , wearing traditional clothing, with his simple hairstyle,  he portrays innocence .The look is crucial to the film’s narrative and it reinforces the idea of a love story that unfolds in the world of emotions, often remained unspoken  Vedang’s screen presence itself tells a story conveying both, the immediacy of a young and  romantic who desires love.

Main Vaapas Aaunga revisits with the performance by Vedang and will introduce a new generation to the young viewer they can relate better.

For Vedang Raina, becoming an Imtiaz Ali hero is not the biggest triumph here, it's how he brings back to Hindi cinema the old-school lover who remains lost in time!
