Sharing his excitement, Jammwal called the opportunity ‘destiny’, saying it felt as though his entire life had prepared him for this role. ‘The almighty aligned it. This is a blessing and proof that anything is possible,’ he said. The actor also reflected on the setbacks he faced after his last film Crakk (2024), which pushed him to explore international projects.

Street Fighter set for a massive 2026 release

Before auditioning, Vidyut Jammwal sought guidance from his guruji Dr. H. R. Nagendra at the Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana in Bengaluru. After assessing his skills, Nagendra encouraged him to take yoga to the world stage. When Jammwal learned that the film centered on a yogic fighter, he considered it a perfect alignment.

Directed by Japanese-American filmmaker Kitao Sakurai, Street Fighter promises a star-studded lineup and will also be shot in parts of the United States. Slated for a global release in 2026, the film is being hailed as one of the biggest worldwide events of the year.
