The upcoming action-packed espionage thriller War 2 is grabbing headlines months before its theatrical debut, thanks to its star-studded cast and impressive pre-release business. Featuring Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan and Tollywood powerhouse Jr NTR, the film is attracting significant attention across the country. Scheduled to hit theatres on August 14, 2025, the film has already locked a major deal for its Telugu version.

123-Telugu reports that prominent South producers Naga Vamsi and Sunil Narang have clinched the Telugu rights of War 2 with a staggering deal estimated at Rs. 85 to 100 crore.

This huge amount shows Jr NTR’s immense crowd-pulling power in the Telugu market and significantly promotes the film’s pan-India commercial potential.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji (also known for Brahmastra and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani), War 2 is the awaited sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, where Hrithik brought the character of RAW agent Kabir Dhaliwal to life. He reprises this high-octane role in the sequel, while Jr NTR reportedly steps in as the film’s fearsome antagonist. Kiara Advani joins the cast as the female lead, bringing glamour and grit to the movie.

The film is strategically timed for release on the eve of India’s Independence Day, aiming to capitalize on the holiday weekend with strong nationwide footfall. The crossover casting has created a pan-India frenzy, uniting fans of Hindi and Telugu cinema.

Both leads are currently enjoying successful phases in their careers. Hrithik was last seen in the action blockbuster Fighter, alongside Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor, while Jr NTR has begun shooting for his next big-budget film directed by Prashanth Neel, known for KGF and Salaar.
