While almost all critics and movie goers had written off Amitabh Bachchan as a fading star after his disastrous movie Lal Baadshah and his following unsuccessful ABCL production company, Television is one medium that decided to tap his potential. The reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati is an Indian version of the British TV show ‘Who Wants To Be a Millionaire’. Big B made his first ever appearance on Television and fans went berserk for getting a chance to come face to face with the star. Not just that, the actor’s humility, sense of humor and warm approach to each and every contestant, was a hit with the Indian public. The show became a massive hit and the TRP ratings sky rocketed after it premiered on 3rd July 2000.

 

Slowly Amitabh Bachchan started making his place back into his fans hearts. He gained even more popularity as he was raw and candid on the TV show with all. Today at the age of 76, he has still retained his status as the superstar of Bollywood with many more projects in the pipeline.
