“Our Dream Is Now Coming True”- Rahul Deshpande On His Grandfather’s Biopic 'Mee Vasantrao', Teaser Out

Makers of the upcoming Marathi film 'Mee Vasantrao' have unveiled its teaser and it is a delight to watch. The film is a biopic of late Pandit Vasantrao Deshpande. The lead/titular role is played by his grandson Rahul Deshpande. The short teaser shows the transformation of the young man into a musical maestro and his journey of fame. It features one of his most celebrated performances. 

 

Speaking of the film Rahul said, “This dream that Nipun and I saw together is now coming true. I consider myself lucky to have had the opportunity to follow in my grandfather's footsteps. I have not been in the company of my grandfather much but I have always heard many stories about him at home. So I was able to get a closer look at the ups and downs of his life on the occasion of this film. I lived that moment and from that I was able to prosper as a man, artist and singer. The journey of nine years is finally coming to an end.”

 

Mee Vasantrao is Directed by Nipun Dharmadhikari and also stars Amey Wagh, Anita Date-Kelkar, Pushkaraj Chirputkar, Kumud Mishra, Sarang Sathaye, Kaumudi Walokar and Durga Jasraj in pivotal roles. The film will hit the big screens on 1st April 2022.
