Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt Starrer Shamshera Teaser- A Visual Treat

After the captivating first look poster, makers of the upcoming period drama Shamshera have unveiled its teaser and it will leave you in awe! The ruthless and brutal character of Sanjay Dutt can only be defeated by the  menacing soul called Shamshera. He will go to any lengths to protect his tribe from the clutches of authoritarian general Shudh Singh played by Dutt. 

Ranbir Kapoor is all set to be seen in a never seen before avatar of a warrior dacoit, moving away from his usual image of a lover boy. The film also stars Vaani Kapoor as the leading lady and is directed by Karan Malhotra and produced by Aditya Chopra. The trailer of Shamshera will be out on 24th June and the film will hit cinemas on 22nd July 2022.

Speaking about playing the role of a dacoit Ranbir had previously said, “Shamshera' is not a story of a 'daaku', but a film based in the 1800s, it is about a dacoit tribe who are fighting for their right and independence from the British. There was a great story of heroism, a story rooted in our country which actually happened back then.” 

“It is a departure from the kind of films I have done, it is not the coming-of-age lover boy roles which I have done often. 'Shamshera' is in the aspirational space, the space of true, badass commercial cinema” Ranbir added.
