Subhash Ghai's Movie, Rejected By Shah Rukh Khan And Hrithik Roshan, Became Failur At Box Office

The "Showman" of Bollywood Subhash Ghai has contributed significantly to Hindi cinema as a director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. Subhash Ghai, has created around sixteen films during his Bollywood career. Thirteen of his movies became blockbuster hits at the box office.

One of his notable movies is "Kisna The Warrior Poet," which he made with great dedication. The movie featured Vivek Oberoi, Antonia Bernath, Isha Sharvani, Amrish Puri, and Zarina Wahab. Unfortunately, it turned out to be Amrish Puri's last film, as he passed away shortly after its release in January 2005.

According to media reports, the production cost of this movie was around ₹25 crores. Despite significant expenses on promotions and other aspects, the movie could only manage to earn a very less amount at the box office. Subhash Ghai had to bear a significant loss, with the distributors suffering a loss of about twenty-four crore and eight lakh rupees.

The primary reason for the movie's failure was attributed to its casting. Initially, Subhash Ghai had offered the lead roles to Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Akshay Kumar. However, due to their respective commitments and schedules, all three actors declined the offer. Eventually, Vivek Oberoi took on the lead role, but the movie did not manage well at the box office.

This incident occurred around 18 years ago, and whenever Subhash Ghai is asked about the movie, it brings back memories for both him and the audience. Despite the setback, Subhash Ghai remains a prominent figure in the history of Hindi cinema, known for his earlier successes and contributions to the industry.
