There Was A Lot Of Homework And Research Lara Dutta On Her Unbelievable Transformation As Indira Gandhi In Bell Bottom Trailer

On Tuesday, the trailer of the upcoming spy thriller Bell Bottom was launched. While the lead actor Akshay Kumar’s screen presence as always was commendable, actress Lara Dutta really gave a jaw dropping performance. In fact, you can’t even tell it’s her, with the incredible physical transformation that the make up artist has given her. The actress plays India’s former PM Indira Gandhi in the film that is based on the true events of a hijacked Indian plane with 210 hostages. Netizens are flabbergasted to see the Housefull actress so unrecognizable in the trailer. It will surely be one of the most challenging roles of her 2 decade old career. 

Speaking of her experience Lara said, “it’s a great responsibility when you are portraying somebody who is an iconic figure like her. I hope all of you will go to theatres to watch the film but it was very important to get her body language right as you know the film deals with the hijack situation that happened during Indira Gandhi’s tenure. So given the dramatic turn of events that were unfolding, she was always somebody who was extremely centered and never really prone to dramatics. So, it was very important to portray her in that form. I had a great time. There was a lot of homework and research that went on behind it but it was an opportunity of a lifetime that I’m very thankful for it.” Bell Bottom is directed by Ranjit Tiwari and produced by Jackky Bhagnani. It also stars Vaani Kapoor and Huma Qureshi.
