Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat (2015)

When this series begins, Emperor Bindusara Maurya is in charge of Magadha. Helena, Bindusara's stepmother, plots to have him killed. When Bindusara is attacked, Dharma, a brahmin woman from Champa, saves him. She impresses Bindusara, who marries her. Then Dharma becomes pregnant. Despite Bindusara's assurances that she would return, she declines to visit the royal palace. Noor, the third queen of Bindusara, and her father Mir Khorasan aim to kill Dharma. Mir kills Dharma's father by attacking her. Then he starts a fire in her hut. Despite Bindusara's presumption that Dharma is dead, she lives and gives birth to a son named Ashoka.
