Salim Akhtar was one of the veteran producers of the industry who had produced innumerous films across multiple decades that redefined the overall landscape of Indian Cinema. His contributions were highly valuable and were dominant in the 1970s and 1980s. In his career, he produced several films that left a profound legacy that left a huge impact on the film industry. Some of his massive and highly acknowledged films were 'Phool Aur Angaare,' 'Aadmi,' and 'Qayamat'. Also, he had launched actresses such as Rani Mukerji in the year 1997 with the film 'Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat' and Tamannah Bhatia in the year 2005 with the film 'Chand Sa Roshan Chehra'
Salim Akhtar’s production house, Aftab Pictures, played a pivotal role in producing various films which aged well with the mass audiences as well as showcased his immense passion for storytelling.
