The makers of Batwara 1947, ahead of its release in August,  have dropped the first motion poster of the film online.  The poster on his social media shares the upcoming film with a clip that opens with a caption, ‘ In times of hatred and fear’ he chose courage.’.


Starring in the film besides Sunny Deol are, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi and other cast members. The motion picture features Karan Deol as well. 


The background music suggests an intense while the poster revealed the official date of release as 14th August 2026 marking its release around the weekend of Independence Day.

The initial title of the film was going to be ‘Lahore 1947, but the makers had decided to change it to Batwara 1947. Produced by Aamir Khan he didn’t want the tit to be titled Lahore .  However, the name belongs to the late producer Salim Akhtar and Aamir Khan is said to have met the family of the late producer to convince them to give him the title for his film.
