Isha Talwar was born in a Punjabi family and is daughter of Vinod Talwar, director and executive producer of Boney Kapoor.
Isha was brought up in Mumbai where she joined the choreographer Terence Lewis Dance School in 2004. She learned various forms of dance like Jazz, Hip-Hop, Ballet, Salsa to name a few and then went on to become a dance instructor in a dance studio. She believes working with Terence Lewis changed her life completely.
Isha worked as a model and appeared in about 40 commercials and some of them were the well-known brands like Pizza Hut, Vivel Fairness Cream, Kaya Skin Clinic, Dulux Paints etc. She also did a music video with Hrithik Roshan for the Just Dance competition while she was preparing herself for the Bollywood .
Isha Talwar started her film career actually as a child actress in the year 2000 in the film Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai.
As an adult she made her debut with the Malayalam film Thattathin Marayathu in 2012, for which she took a voice training class and went through an entire course to learn the language. She has appeared in many films in Tamil and Telugu. She also learnt to play the guitar. The story was of a Muslim girl Aisha essayed by Isha who falls in love with a Hindu boy. The film became a blockbuster and was listed in Top 5 films in Malayalam cinema in 2012. The film titled her as the girl next door image.
Her second film was I Love Me by B. Unnikrishnan in which she plays the lead role with Asif Ali and Unnikrishnan. Her roles was of the English film character Samantha in the ‘Shades of Grey’ .
Isha Talwar was also titled as one of the most desirable woman in Malayalam films.
In 2013, Isha Talwar had two more releases and she did her Telugu debut in the film Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde. The film gave a lot of positive response to her role and she did the Tamil debut Thillu Mullu a remake of the same film title released in 1981. The film went on to be a commercial success. She was seen in many Malayalam films thereafter in the year 2014. She essayed various roles in Balyakalasakhi, Utsaha Committee, God’s Own Country. She acted in the film Bangalore Days by Anjali Menon . She did an extended cameo role in Siddique’s Bhaskar the Rascal. She also did a shooting for the Tamil remake of Thattathin Marayathu wherein she essays her own role. She has appeared as Maya in the Hindi film Tubelight alongside superstar Salman Khan. She made her debut in the Bollywood films with Saif Ali Khan in the film Kaalakaandi.
