'Aakhree Raasta,' released in 1986, which features Amitabh Bachchan in a dual role. It's a Hindi crime drama directed by Tamil actor K Bhagyaraj, presented by T Rama Rao, and produced by A Poornachandra Rao under the banner of Lakshmi Productions Madras Private Ltd.

The main cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Prada, Sridevi, and Anupam Kher. In an interview, Sridevi mentioned that Rekha did the Hindi dubbing for her in the movie because her Hindi wasn't good at that time. The supporting cast includes Dilip Tahil, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Bharat Kapoor, and Viju Khote.

The story revolves around a man falsely accused of murdering his wife, leading to his imprisonment. When he sets out for revenge, he encounters a police officer who turns out to be his own son. Amitabh Bachchan played both the father and son roles, a plot he had done before in movies like 'Adalat,' 'Mahaan' and 'Desh Premee.' In 'Aakhree Raasta,' he portrayed the double role of father and son for fourth time and after Aakhree Raasta he did same role in Sooryavansham too.

 Aakhree Raasta was written by Bhagyaraj, and the dialogues are penned down by Rahi Masoom Raza. The music for the movie is composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, and the lyrics are written by Anand Bakshi. One of the songs from the movie, 'Gori Ka Sajan Sajan Ki Gori,' became a big hit back then.

After this movie, Amitabh Bachchan took a break from movies for his political career. He returned to the film industry in 1988 with 'Shahenshah.' 'Aakhree Raasta' was the last movie he released before entering politics. The movie, a remake of the Tamil film 'Oru Kaidhiyin Diary,' written by Bhagyaraj, was declared an all-time blockbuster. Even today, it is considered one of Amitabh Bachchan's best performances.
