Amir Garib (1974)

Amir Garib is a 1974 film produced and directed by Mohan Kumar, starring Dev Anand, Hema Malini, Premnath, Tanuja, Sujit Kumar and Ranjit. The plot revolved around cracking down the spate of robberies targeting the rich city by a masked thief Bagula Bhagat who lives a dual life under the name of Manmohan alias Moni who is also a magician. His prime motive is to rob the rich and share his wealth to the poor. Inspector Anand (essayed by Sujit Kumar) is handling the case. A mysterious circumstance in which he also finds out about a woman who is not the woman she claims to be but had fallen in love with her. After series of interesting sequences, the film ends with a courtroom drama. Does the judge take a lenient view towards Bagula Bhagat’s two ways of being a thief and a do good for the poor?
