Attagasam

“Attagasam” by Saran is a commercial action film. It stars Ajith Kumar in the dual role, opposite Pooja and Babu Antony. The film tells the story of Jeeva and Guru, twin brothers who are separated in childhood by their mother to save them from persecution. When they finally meet years later, Guru replaces Jeeva.

Jeeva, a driving instructor, enjoys a blissful life with his widowed mother. After a series of unfortunate events, he ended up falling head over heels in love with Swapna. To protect her son, Jeeva, Jeeva’s mother conceals the fact that his father was killed by a goon, Manthiram. Jeeva’s mother, much to Jeeva’s discontent, packs off his elder twin brother Guru with a family willing to adopt him, who had observed the murderer from a close distance to a far-off city. Guru flees from the family, escapes to Thoothukudi and ages up to become a don of the mafia operating there.

On one of his trips to Thoothukudi, Jeeva meets Guru, known as Thala. Seizing the day, Guru abducts Jeeva, and of course, Guru’s got his eye on Chennai and wants to pretend to be Jeeva. At first, he intends to get vengeance against his birth mother for abandoning him shortly after birth. He abuses her at every turn and even conspires to sell all their land out from under her. At the same time, Jeeva is misidentified as a gangster and is attacked by the local goons of Thoothukudi.

After a series of adventures, he eventually outsmarts them and returns to Chennai to rescue his mother. Meanwhile, Guru receives news of his father’s death and discovers that Manthiram was responsible for bringing about their shared fate. He avenges his father’s death and allows Jeeva to live happily with their mother and later moves to prison to keep his mother in the belief that he is living somewhere happily.

“Attagasam” is a high-octane action drama that stars Ajith Kumar in a double role as twin brothers separated at birth. One becomes a mafia don, the other a driving school teacher. When their worlds collide, identity changes and family secrets and retribution come into play. Ajith’s double act, emotional range and sky-high action instincts are all on display in this compelling, action-packed crowd-pleaser that goes the extra mile as an engrossing entertainer.
