“Custody" is an Indian 2023 period action thriller film written and directed by Venkat Prabhu. It was produced by Srinivasaa Chituri under the label Srinivasaa Silver Screen and Anji Industeries. It stars Nagar Chaitanya, Arvind Swamy and Krithi Shetty.

The film is set in 1998 and revolves around A. “Shiva” (Naga Chaitanya), a friendly and sincere police constable, who finds himself involved in a fatal pursuit all of a sudden. Shiva is smitten with “Revathi” (Krithi Shetty), a driving school instructor, and the couple decide to elope and get married. But Shiva's life is turned upside down when he arrests Rajasekhar, alias "Raju" (Arvind Swamy), a gangster who possesses vital information regarding a fatal bomb explosion and the role of influential politician CM Dakshayani.

CBI officer George tells Shiva that Raju needs to be brought to the Bangalore court in 48 hours for testifying. But it becomes complicated when it is revealed that the entire police station, run by Dakshayani, is keen to kill Raju. Shiva must safeguard Raju and George, and a murderous quest with ambushes and deceptions begins. Revathi also joins them, and they continue to repel danger at every turn.

After George is assassinated in a surprise attack, Shiva, Raju, and Revathi carry on the mission with assistance from Major General Phillips. The mission becomes personal when Nataraj, a corrupt police officer, blackmails Shiva's father to kill Raju. Disaster strikes when Shiva's father gives his life to save his son's honor. When they are nearing their destination, Ravi attacks Raju's brother, and there is a climactic fight in which Raju gets killed while saving Shiva.

Shiva also reaches the court along with Raju's confession, revealing Dakshayani and bringing justice. Despite being promoted to CBI, Shiva remains within the normal police force and returns to his life with Revathi.

“Custody” is a well-balanced action thriller with a good plot and good performances. Although the movie provides thrilling chase scenes and emotional peaks, it loses a bit of steam in some places.
