Dharma Yuddham, directed by R. C. Sakthi, is an action drama movie starring Rajinikanth, Sridevi, Manorama, and Thengai Srinivasan. The movie chronicles a young boy who sees his father murdered by an avaricious man. Years later, he starts a mission for revenge against the murderer.

Robert murders Vijay's parents; Thiyagarajan, whose daughter Vijay loves like a sister, adopts Vijay. Vijay develops into a quiet, successful entrepreneur. Reporting Chitra wants to interview him; they fall in love. Vijay's sister, on the other hand, falls for a photographer. Vijay accepts the match, seeing the photographer's sincerity, though reluctant at first. Tragedy hits when Manju is discovered deceased. Robert, a family friend engaged in illicit organ trading, is uncovered as her killer. Vijay hides a secret: on full moon nights, he transforms into a forceful, and brutal alter-ego as a result of his early trauma.

Only Chitra is aware of this. His family holds him back during these outbursts to keep everyone safe. Vijay is overpowered when he challenges Robert over his awful organ trafficking, and accountability for the deaths. A full moon emerges as Robert completes his last agreement. Vijay's alter ego takes control and violently murders Robert and his henchmen. Vijay is acquitted, given his condition and the victims being criminals. Free from Robert's shadow, he struggles with the violent path he had travelled, and the expectation of making peace with Chitra.
