“Double iSmart” is a Telugu science fiction action movie directed by Puri Jagannadh, featuring Ram Pothineni and Sanjay Dutt in his Telugu debut. A spiritual follow-up to iSmart Shankar, the movie delves into memory transfer technology, power conflicts, and revenge.
“iSmart Shankar” (Ram Pothineni) is a street-smart outlaw with a special brain port, through which memories can be uploaded into his mind. At the same time, “Big Bull” (Sanjay Dutt), a merciless mafia don with a terminal brain tumor, is determined to attain immortality. He commissions rogue scientists to upload his mind into a younger, stronger body: selecting Shankar as his ideal host.
Shankar, nonetheless, has his agenda. On a mission to take revenge for his mother “Pochamma's” (Jhansi) killing, he embarks on capturing and extraditing Big Bull to India. Along the way, he comes across “Jannath”, a Delhi girl who has recently moved to Hyderabad. While he playfully teases her, getting revenge for his mother is of utmost importance.
Big Bull's team identifies Shankar as the ideal candidate for the memory transfer. As both men hunt each other, a game of cat and mouse with death is the result. Shankar finds himself entangled in a conspiracy where his own mind is at risk of being hijacked. With memories from his past already implanted in his brain, the potential transfer may alter his identity for good.
“Double iSmart” is the buildup for a pyrotechnic battle of wits between Shankar and Big Bull, where science collides with action in a war of brains and survival. Double iSmart brings high-octane action, sleek visuals, and an intriguing storyline combining futuristic technology with human touch. The dynamic performance by Ram Pothineni and authoritative presence by Sanjay Dutt, the film promises to be an action-packed experience laced with high-energy action and mass entertainment.
