Fitoor (2016)

Noor, played by Aditya Roy Kapoor is a middle class Kashmiri teenaged boy, employed by Begum Hazrat, played by Tabu. Hazrat’s daughter Firdaus, played by Katrina Kaif, besots him. They soon become close but on learning of this, Hazrat decides to send a teenaged Firdaus Broad to study and humiliates Noor. She has her own demons of past unrequited young love. A few years later, on completing his education, Noor receives a prominent art scholarship and moves to Delhi where he happens to meet Firdaus. He soon learns that she is engaged to Bilal, played by Rahul Bhat and will be marrying him soon. This upsets him but the two lovers realize they still have the same feelings for each other, which has grown more in intensity. Hazrat, feels guilty at having to separate them but still insists on Firdaus marrying Bilal, as she has miserable memories of her love for Mufti, who impregnated her and fled without a trace. Noor sees no way out and goes back dejected. Hazrat, who is fighting her demons of love, is unable to forget Mufti and eventually commits suicide. At the funeral Firdaus finds her necklace, which has a picture of her and Mufti. She finally re-unites with Noor. Fitoor is directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapoor and Abhishek Kapoor. The music is composed by Amit Trivedi.
