"Garudan" is a 2024 Tamil action thriller film directed and written by R. S. Durai Senthilkumar and produced by Vetrimaaran and K. Kumar. Soori, M. Sasikumar, and Unni Mukundan play central roles in the film.

"Karuna" (Sasikumar) and "Aadhi" (Unni Mukundan) are childhood friends in the town of Kombai, Theni. Their friendship is not shaken by the ups and downs of life. Karuna, who was once rescued by an orphan named Sokkan (Soori), adopts him as a token of gratitude. Sokkan becomes Karuna's most trusted friend over the years. Both Karuna and Aadhi are powerful men as trustees of the Kombai Amman temple. But their bond is tried when a dishonest minister, Thangapandi, conspires to grab temple land worth crores.

Nagaraj, a relative of Thangapandi, attempts to dominate the temple committee but is thwarted when Sokkan, supported by Aadhi and Karuna, is elected the head. Aadhi is given the treasure key of the temple, and hence he becomes the target. With manipulation and greed, Nagaraj and Karuna's brother-in-law, Vairavel, drive a wedge between Aadhi and Karuna. When Aadhi finds counterfeit jewels in the temple coffers and suspects that Karuna is involved, he reports him to the police, inadvertently walking into a trap.

Seized by betrayal, Karuna becomes a turncoat against Aadhi. At a temple festival, there is a violent clash where Karuna kills Aadhi. Sokkan is in a dilemma between loyalty and justice and covers up the fact but comes to know later that Karuna committed more atrocities like killing his own grandmother. To achieve justice, Sokkan kills Nagaraj and Vairavel but gets implicated.

In a final showdown, Sokkan fights Karuna to save Aadhi’s family. He ultimately kills Karuna, ending his reign of betrayal. With the truth revealed, Sokkan is released, reuniting with his love, Vinnarasi. Meanwhile, Thangapandi meets his fate in a road accident, closing the chapter on corruption and deceit.
