The wealthy Malhotra family’s only son is Raj, played by Pyiyanshu Chatterjee. They are keen to get him married to Ishwarchand’s US based daughter Simran, played by Dia Mirza. Ishwarchand and Malhotra have been good friends for the longest time and now want a stronger alliance through their children. Raj is however already besotted by his younger sister’s tutor Asha, played by Neha Bajpai, who comes from a poor family and thus ignores his advances. In reality, Simran too is in love with Sameer, an aspiring singer.

Simran and Raj think of ways that they can get their wedding called off. They later come to know that Asha and Sameer are dating. Simran and Raj now join forces to separate the two and have them for themselves. Their plan succeeds and Asha’s marriage is planned with Raj, while Simran’s is planned with Sameer. On the marriage day Raj confesses to Sameer that he and Simran separated the two. Sameer tells them not to tell this to Asha as it will hurt her. Meanwhile Raj realizes that he has fallen for Simran. Raj’s father thus switches the spouses and Raj marries Simran while Sameer marries Asha.
