"Mark Antony" (2023) is an Adhik Ravichandran-directed sci-fi action comedy film, produced by S. Vinod Kumar, and features Vishal and S. J. Suryah playing dual roles along with Ritu Varma, Sunil, Selvaraghavan, and Abhinaya. Combining gangster drama and a twist of time travel, the film presents a thrilling, high-octane journey into the past and present.

It starts in 1975, when scientist Chiranjeevi creates a special phone, which enables one to call up a day in the past: one call for one chosen date. At about the same time, the underworld of Chennai is controlled by “gangsters Antony and Jackie Pandian". Antony is murdered by a rival, and Jackie becomes the don and adopts Antony's son, "Mark".

In 1995, Mark, who is now a mechanic, does not care about his father's reputation and resents him, thinking Antony was responsible for his mother's death. Mark finds the time-traveling telephone and starts altering history. He initially uses it to rescue his mother and then his father. He later finds out the horrifying truth: Jackie, and not Antony, was responsible for all the betrayal, crime, and violence.

Mark's telephone calls alter the timeline, interchanging roles for him and Madhan, son of Jackie. Before long, Madhan and Jackie learn to use the capabilities of the telephone and a risky cat-and-mouse chase transpires across the timelines. For the third and final act, Antony emerges from hiding with strong support and eliminates Jackie and Madhan in a bloody encounter.

"Mark Antony" excels with its free-wheeling idea, cool presentation, and high-energy performances by Vishal and S. J. Suryah. The film blends action, comedy, and vintage chic with a time-travel twist that introduces hilarious mayhem into the gangster genre. Though the plot becomes far-fetched at some points, the movie keeps the viewer engaged with its frantic pace and shocking turns.
