Synopsis

Parichay is a 1972 film , a copy and inspired from the 1965 film The Sound of Music. The film became popular and is produced by V. K. Sobti under the banner of Tirupathi Pictures and was directed by Gulzar. It stars Jeetendra, Jaya Bhaduri and Pran in the lead role, Sanjeev Kumar and Vinod Khanna are as guest and special appearance . The story is about a misunderstanding between a father Rai Saheb and son Nilesh (Sanjeev Kumar) who wants to pursue a career in singing and also marry the girl of his choice whom the father is not in favour of. Much against the wishes of his father he leaves the home and settles down with his family. Unfortunately, his wife dies and soon he also is diagnosed terminally ill. After he dies, his father Rai Saheb(Pran) brings home the grand children to his palatial home but the children are quite a rebel and against their grandfather. The children are led by their eldest sister Rama (Jaya Bhaduri). The children make life miserable for all the tutors who are hired to educate and civilize them but Ravi (Jeetendra) who is jobless takes up the offer to become their teacher. He not only reforms them but Rama and Ravi fall in love. He also mould the displinary attitude of Rai Saheb and the film ends with his consent to Ravi and Rama’s alliance.
