Maharaja Chatrapal is delighted at the news that his wife has given birth to a son, who will be the heir to the throne. However fate has other plans for them when the palace astrologer informs the king that his son Raju will not get the throne as Chatrapal is the last one to inherit the throne. This news disturbs the king and he decides to protect his son and shield him from the outside world. He keeps him inside the palace and never lets him step out. Soon the prince grows up and runs away. He falls in love with a dancer Anita. However when her admirer Jimmy learns that Raju is a prince, he informs his father about his whereabouts and the king sends his army to nab him. Raju now has to decide is he wants to go back or continue this life.
The movie is directed by Rajiv Kumar Chaowdhary and produced by B S Shaad. The music is composed by Bappi Lahiri and the lyrics are written by Indeevar, Sikander Bharti, Nawab Arzoo, Maya Govind and Anjaan. The film’s story is written by Honey Irani and Rumi Jaffery. The screenplay is written by Madan Joshi and Raju Saigal. The star cast includes Shammi Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Madhu, Shakti Kapoor, Prem Chopra, Tej Sapru, Raza Murad, Paintal, Tinnu Anand, Joginder,M ohnish Behl, Johny Lever, Arun Bakshi and Anjana Mumtaz.
