Dr. Gayatri, played by Bipasha Basu works as a researcher in an American paranormal institute and is doing research on practices such as black magic, voodoo, spirit possessions, etc. Her research leads her team along with her to India where she meets Varun, played by Sanjay Dutt, who seems to have special powers of healing people with sickness and diseases. He worships lord Hanuman during the day and works as a bouncer in a club at night. Gayatri is very intrigued by Varun’s powers and makes him her main subject of research.

 

She performs many experiments on Varun and he has an insight that Ravana’s Rudraksha (a multi-dimentional hologram) can transform people into other species. Anyone who possesses this Rudraksh will become very powerful. Bhuria, played by Suniel Shetty is a Rakshasa who is trying to communicate to Varun to utilize the power of Rudraksh but Varun refuses to divulge any information. Gayatri meanwhile discovers a set of words when spoken has a strange effect on certain people. Her assistant Suzy hears the words and gets possessed and starts working for Bhuria. She later tries to kill Gayatri who is saved by Varun and Suzy dies. Gayatri and Varun join forces thereon to find out the truth about the Rudraksh and fight evil.

 

The movie is written and directed by Mani Shankar and produced by Dr. Manmohan Singh and Sohail Maklai. The music is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The story of the movie is narrated by Amitabh Bachchan. The star cast includes Isha Koppikar, Kabir Bedi, Raj Zutshi, Virendra Saxena, Ashok Kumar, Negar Khan and Vaibhavi Merchant.
