Tipsy is one of the movies of the thriller-drama genre. This new film’s story is set against the backdrop of Goa. The film’s story begins with Pony and her four close friends, namely Yami, Selene, Tanya and Iris, as they all embark on a wild bachelorette getaway. Then, it begins as a fiery celebration that turns quite chaotic when the group indulges in heavy drinking and wakes up in the aftermath of a night they can’t recall what happened last night.
Their carefree laughter quickly fades when they stumble upon a dead man floating in their pool, who shocks them with the sight of lingerie stuffed in his mouth. Encountering from the discovery, they face a tense mix of fear, guilt, and confusion in which each of them grapples with the possibility of involvement in a heinous crime they barely remember.
Soon after this tragedy, Enter Jacob, who is a stern Goa Police officer assigned to investigate the perplexing murder. As he gets torn between professional duty and personal empathy, Jacob interrogates the women, and thereby uncovers buried secrets and fractured relationships As the multiple flashbacks surface and alibis unravel, the plot weaves together the multiple emotional flashpoints, including the romantic tensions, betrayals, and long-suppressed fears.
With its blend of suspense, drama, and dark humour, Tipsy channels the chaotic, memory loss style of The Hangover, but flips the script with a gripping crime narrative and a female ensemble at its core. The story builds to a climactic reveal: who among them had a darker role in the fatal night? Tipsy is one of the movie releases that explores the themes of friendship, accountability, and the ripple effects of choices made under the influence.
