“Vaanam Kottattum” is the 2020 Tamil-language family drama film Jointly written by Dhana and Mani Ratnam. The banner that produced the film was Madras Talkies. This film features R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Radhika Sarathkumar and Aishwarya Rajesh.
The storyline revolves around “Bose Kaalai”, who is portrayed as a loving husband and father but eventually does something drastic out of passion and anger as an act of revenge. His acts culminate in his being given an imprisonment term which stretches over several decades. Chandra, his wife, is made to raise the two children of her own alone. These two children, Selva and Mangai, get their respective strengths and become mature and responsible on account of constant efforts by Chandra. Their father had no presence during their growing days. It marks an impact forever.
After many years, Bose finally comes out of jail, expecting to be with his family and mend things. His past continues to haunt him though and the old wounds are reopened. Selva, a responsible businessman, cannot understand his father’s return and Mangai harbors mixed feelings for the man she barely knows.
Just when Bose thought things were going to settle, they came out worse. There was a new kind of war breaking out: everything in his life was once more at stake: his whole family. When his old enemies and secrets emerged again, he had to fight his past to secure the future for the people he cared about the most.
The movie is available theatrically from 7 February 2020 and now the film can be streamed in different languages on Amazon Prime Video.
