The casting landscape for one of the most ambitious upcoming projects is reportedly in talks with Shraddha Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in the mythological epic, Mahavatar. Marking it as the first-time collaboration between the two stars for on screen presence.

This development follows months of speculation on Deepika Padukone being considered for the role.  However, the director Amar Kaushik and 

Producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films were seeking fresh and dynamic combination to anchor their high stakes narrative.  

Shraddha who is current enjoying a career high following the success of Stree 2 seemed the perfect fit with Vicky Kaushal.

Mahavatar Epic is being mounted on a global platform. 

The vision behind Mahavatar centred on the life of Chiranjeevi Parashurama the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu.  The lead actor Vicky Kaushal to portray the eternal warrior of dharma and is expected to undergo an enormous physical transformation for the role and will adopt a rugged wrestler like physique with matted hair. 

The scale on which the producer Dinesh Vijan is anticipating Mahavatar, it is being designed on the scale of six times larger than his historical drama Chhaava. The creative team unites the blockbuster trio of Stree, Amar Kaushik, the director, Dinesh Vijan the producer and Niren Bhatt the writer for the Mahavatar.

While an official confirmation from Shraddha Kapoor is still awaited by the makers and the team, sources suggest the talks are on with a progressive positivity.  Meanwhile, film is in the advance stages of pre-production.
