The upcoming biographical sports drama Maidaan has seen a lot of obstacles in its way, since it started its shoot more than a year back. With the set being destroyed by cyclone and loss of other property, the makers are finally resuming the shoot this October. Ahead of that, a massive set is being rebuilt in Madh Island to shoot the final and most crucial part of the film. Maidaan will see actor Ajay Devgn play the lead role of late coach Syed Abdul Rahim, of the Indian football team.

The final schedule of Maidaan will begin on October 25 and continue till the first week of December 2021. The film is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma who recently finished shooting for the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games where he recreated the shot of India being humiliated by Yugoslavia. Ajay Devgn will next be seen in S S Rajamouli’s RRR and later in Mayday.
