Alia Bhatt Starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi To Now Release On 18 February

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming drama Gangubai Kathiawadi is one of the most awaited films. The film was to earlier release in 2022 on January 6th clashing with another Alia Bhatt starrer magnum opus RRR. But the makers have averted this clash of the titans and the film will now hit the big screens on 18th February 2022. The film’s maker’s as well as lead actress Alia shared a statement regarding the same on the social media platform, “We are glad to announce that Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi has a new release date. Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios). The film will release on February 18, 2022.”

 

Gangubai Kathiawadi is the first collaboration between Alia and Bhansali. Sharing her experience the actress had previously said, “This film and set have been through two lockdowns... two cyclones... director and actor getting covid during the making!!! the troubles the set has faced is another film all together...Being directed by Sir has been a dream all my life, but I don't think anything would have prepared me for the journey I was on for these two years... I walk out of this set a diff person today! I love you sir! Thank you for being you... There is truly no one like you.” The film also stars Ajay Devgn. Meanwhile, Bhatt will next be seen in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
