Ashutosh Gowariker called ‘lame’ for distorting facts in Panipat

Rajasthan citizens are extremely furious at director Ashutosh Gowariker for presenting wrong facts about Maharaja Surajmal and portraying him as a greedy ruler. There were protests in the state to ban the movie Panipat, as the facts have been shown irresponsibly and wrongly. Also they have opposed to the use of Haryanvi and Rajasthani language in the movie, whereas in real the locals speak in Braj language. The hastag #boycottpanipat has now been trending in India. There are very few who have asked to make changes in the film.

 

The historical drama Panipat, stars Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in leading roles. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Mohnish Behl, Nawab Shah and Padmini Kolhapure, among others in crucial roles. The film’s plot revolves around the battle of Panipat that was one of the biggest in Indian history, fought between the Maratha and Moghuls. The film released last week.
