One of the most awaited releases at the start of the year is Border 2 which has officially received a clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) two days ahead of its release on January 23rd which also coincides to the long weekend of Indian Republic Day. The makers have finally received the certification much to their relief and also a relief for the fans and the entire team, cast and crew. 

What’s more encouraging and a boost for the film is the CBFC has passed Border 2 without demanding a single cut in the scenes, dialogues or any of the action sequences ensuring the film will continue with its high voltage war drama as is that we be released in the theatres for the viewers. 

A few minor changes and modifications that the Board did suggest to the makers of Border 2.

The board did suggest a few minor modifications keeping in view of the certification guidelines that needed to be included. One of them was to include Sunny Deol’s character’s full name, Fateh Singh at the end of the movie in the credits.   The visuals of the Indian Flat on war planes to be replaced wherever necessary and the warship featured in the film was changed to the name Kavach.   Additionally, the information displayed about the warriors should have a change in the font size to enable better clarity for the views.  

Apart from the certification process, the makers submitted publicly the available documents to the CBFC’s examining committee.  The makers were then asked to reconfirm the accuracy of the military emblem on the character’s shoulders. The producers have further clarified that the depiction was authentic and has been verified with the Indian Army and with the family of Major Hosiar Singh Dahiya portrayed by actor Varun Dhawan in the film Border 2

With the updates, Border 2 was granted the certificate under U/A 13+ indicating that the film will avoid excessive gore or disturbing contents and the censorship is granted with the film run time of 199.07 minutes which is approximately 3 hours 19 minutes with 7 seconds. 

The ensemble cast for Border 2 features Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty in the pivotal lead roles besides Mona Singh and others. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under the T Series banner along with J. P. Dutta, Nidhi Dutta of J P Films and is directed by Anurag Singh.
