Chhapaak runs into legal trouble

The story of movie Chhapaak has been instrumental in raising the issues and struggles of an acid attack survivor. The film has gained a significant amount of popularity with its subject and the film’s trailer has made an unbelievable impact on the audiences. The film, however, runs into controversy when acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal’s lawyer Aparna Bhat, objected to not being mentioned in the film at all. The Delhi high court has now ordered the film’s release only after her name will be mentioned. This will be effective for multiplexes and live streaming apps from 15 January while other platforms would be from 17 January. Aparna also provided significant assistance in the making of the film.

Chhapaak stars Deepika Padukone in the lead role opposite Vikrant Massey. The actress will soon be seen in the sports drama ‘83 opposite Ranveer Singh.
