Dharmendra honored with the Sanskriti Kalashri Award

Veteran actor Dharmendra known for his iconic movies like Sholay, Seeta Aur Geeta, Raja Rani, Pratigya, Ghulami, Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke, and many more, was honoured with the prestigious 17th Sanskriti Kalashri Award at The Music Academy in Chennai recently. The audience gave the Yamla Pagla Deewana actor a standing ovation.

 

The Sanskriti Kalashri Award is usually given to actors from the Tamil industry. Dharmendra was emotional that he was given such an honour even though he has never acted in any Tamil film. His acting legacy is carried forward by his grandson Karan Deol, son of actor Sunny Deol, who’s debut film just recently released titled Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, which is the song from the veteran’s movie Blackmail starring Rakhee.
