Actor and producer Jackky Bhagnani has called out the industry to focus on authentic storytelling in the cinema. Jacky Bhagnani, who has strong knowledge about the subject, as he has studied at Lee Strasberg's Theatre and Film Institute.

While recalling his old days when he was studying at the institute, he said, 'Lee Strasberg's teaching method motivates as well as encourages the aspiring actors to tap into their own experiences and emotions to create authenticity in their performances. This training not only altered me to on channelising the importance of personal experiences but also on the fact that good writing plays a major role in delivering an impactful experience to the audience.

Jackky Bhagnani further appreciated some web series such as 'Baby Reindeer' and 'Adolescence.' He said, 'These shows blend the storytelling along with the human emotions and thereby deliver a stunning performance. This is what exactly the cinema needs to do.'


Jackky Points Out A Major Flaw


Further, Jacky pointed out that the industry is somewhere lacking a good screenplay. He said, 'Screenwriting is an art, and today it is not being implemented in recent films. I feel that film writing must tap into delivering authentic experiences in order to connect universally. These regional industries are reaching out to it to some great extent and you can see some well-established characters delivering some unforgettable performances.'


Jackky's Take On 'Challenges Faced By Industry'


While talking about the industry's challenges, he said, 'We are continuously competing with the international piece of content that the urban segment of audiences consumes, and somehow we also struggle to resonate with the rural sensibilities as well as the audiences from the Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. Content fatigue is also a certain phenomenon and we need to experiment with various genres as well as themes to develop the confidence in terms of investing in good ideas rather than following the trends blindly because 'trends may come and go but the good stories tend to live forever.'
